For the sustainable and innovative development of marinas in Normandy
The Association des Ports de Plaisance Normands is committed to working alongside its member ports to support their economic development and prepare them for the challenges of tomorrow. We are focusing on two key areas in this approach: supporting marinas in their role as a territorial network and their ecological transition.
1. Supporting the economic development and integration of marinas in Normandy
Normandy’s marinas play an essential role as gateways to the region and as links between land and sea. Our mission is to help each marina strengthen this strategic function by equipping it with the means to develop and interact with its ecosystem, while at the same time playing a key role in it.
Concrete measures :
- Support for member ports
As key players in the nautical and tourism sectors, ports play a key role in the region’s economic dynamism. Our support focuses on sharing innovative practices and providing access to resources. - Strengthening local networks
To stimulate the region, we help ports to establish links with other regional players: businesses, associations, local authorities, etc. By creating this network of players, we are helping to strengthen the economic and social fabric of Normandy, a land of natural and cultural treasures. - Offering new perspectives
We provide member ports with content and information to broaden their horizons, stimulate their capacity for innovation and prepare them to respond to new developments, particularly with regard to changes in the profile of recreational boaters.
2. Commitment to an ecological transition for Normandy ports
Against a backdrop of climate change and growing environmental awareness, it is vital that marinas commit to sustainable port management. To meet this challenge, the Association des Ports de Plaisance Normands is rolling out concrete projects to support a gradual ecological transition.
The eco-gestures campaign: a daily commitment by yachtsmen
The eco-gestures campaign aims to raise awareness among yachtsmen of the simple, effective actions that can help reduce their environmental impact. The campaign ambassadors encourage eco-responsible practices, such as waste management, water saving and respect for local flora and fauna.
The aim is to develop a collective awareness that will help protect our coastline while enjoying its resources responsibly.
Certification Ports Propres : towards an ecological transition for harbours
Nearly ten ports in Normandy, spread across the three coastal departments, are already involved in the ‘Ports Propres’ certification process. This certification has been internationally recognised since 2024, when it was upgraded to ISO 18 725, for environmental management and the protection of biodiversity in ports.
In order to support the port teams in Normandy, the Association des Ports de Plaisance Normands (Association of Normandy Marinas) is training and increasing its skills to support ports in this demanding process. Our aim is to be able to train port teams by 2025 to obtain Ports Propres and Ports Propres Active in Biodiversity certification, thus guaranteeing that each certified port applies high standards of environmental protection.
Towards a sustainable and innovative future
By pooling best practices and skills, as well as ecological commitments, we are working to ensure that Normandy’s marinas are key players in regional development. Through these initiatives, we want every marina to play an active part in the development of Normandy, while respecting its environment and blending harmoniously into its surroundings.
